Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Star Wars Legacy #31 Dark Horse Comics Ostrander, Duursema & Parsons Vector wraps up, but so does a major story in this title. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Vector crossover didn’t slow this title’s momentum down at all. In fact, it seems that Vector has helped to push across a new status quo in this title. I was shocked at the ending here. Vector may have been a hit or miss crossover, but this arc, in this title, may have been the best for this entire series. Panetta a surprise pick to run the CIA - Los Angeles Times

"Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who this week begins her tenure as the first female head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said she was not consulted on the choice and indicated she might oppose it. "I was not informed about the selection of Leon Panetta to be the CIA director," Feinstein said. "My position has consistently been that I believe the agency is best served by having an intelligence professional in charge at this time."" - Charles LePage via Bookmarklet

Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Captain America #45 Marvel Comics Brubaker, Ross, Magyar & D’Armata This mini arc wraps up but does it really end? Captain America aka Bucky doesn’t really succeed in his mission but he does gather some intelligence that leads him into a much larger plot and story. The comic is a very good story, but the fact that the payoff is really a reveal and not much of a resolution is a bit of a downer. Still, this is a great read month in and month out.Read more » Original post blogged on ComicList. - Charles LePage

"But evidence is mounting that Obama is already losing ground among key Arab and Muslim audiences that cannot understand why, given his promise of change, he has not spoken out. Arab commentators and editorialists say there is growing disappointment at Obama's detachment - and that his failure to distance himself from George Bush's strongly pro-Israeli stance is encouraging the belief that he either shares Bush's bias or simply does not care." - Charles LePage via Bookmarklet

Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Wolverine #70 Marvel Comics Millar, McNiven, Vines & Hollowell Part Five of the Old Man Logan saga answers many of the questions as to the reasons behind Logan leaving behind the Wolverine side of his personality. It’s a straight forward enough of an issue, but the craftiness in the twist at the end and the incredibly gruesome bloody artwork makes this issue stand out in a big time way. The cool part about this issue is you really don’t have to had followed any of the previous four to enjoy this one. Tremendous issue all around. Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Kick-Ass #5 Icon (Marvel Comics) Millar& Romita Jr Months in the making the saga continues with perhaps the funniest issue yet. The overall plot for this series is jerked awkwardly forward in this issue as a second cape character is introduced, established and then launches into interaction with two more capes by the end. The issue has terrific artwork and a fast pace. It’s not too late to jump on board with this title if you missed the previous four because this one is worth it. clipped from www.sundaymail.co.uk Marvel comics writer Mark was raced to hospital after his temperature soared to 103 and he developed extreme flu-like symptoms. Mark, of Glasgow, said: "I went off sick the first week of December and thought I had a heavy cold or flu. My temperature was a consistent 103F and I was awake all night shivering. Doctors finally discovered Mark was suffering a severe reaction to his medication for Crohn's, which causes agonising inflammation of the digestive tract. "They found out I had a bad reaction to pills you take if you have Crohn's Disease - really powerful drugs called azathioprine. "They've kept Crohn's at bay - I've only had one flaremy whole life - but this is the second time I've had a nasty side effect."
