@Andrew You can transcode it with another program like MPlayer (MEncoder) or FFmpeg to something Quicktime will play. If the file's within reasonable size I can help you with that. - Chris Lasher

... and not to fan the flames, but I guess I'm a bit frustrated/disappointed. The #1 reason to go mac that I heard was "it just works" (where the most often cited example is external projectors, which I never really had a problem with). anyway, the mac just hasn't been as seamless as I'd hoped... learning curve I guess... - Andrew Su
When you change OS' that always happens, I had some fun converting my music library to itunes (unfortunately had some wmv's in there). Luckily most of my video was already in h.264 - Deepak
