IT began as a chance meeting at Bondi Beach and ended around a power pole more than 40km away in Sydney's southwest.
Lucy Lieberman was killed instantly after a ride in her new boyfriend Moustapha Haj's car - just three weeks after the pair had first met. The 15-year-old had caught a train from Bondi to meet Mr Haj, a P-2 driver, at Bankstown.
With her best friend Ebony, 16, by her side, the pair joined Mr Haj as they drove to meet his cousin in Liverpool.
They never made it. Mr Haj's Honda Integra, registered to his father, skidded for 80m before it slammed into a power pole on Newbridge Rd, Chipping Norton, on Saturday at 7.30pm. - Andrew Trinh
