LimoncelloQuest: A Personal Pilgrimage to create the perfect Limoncello | How to Make Limoncello

Haven't had limoncello since Argentina. Hmmmmm.... - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
two things - 1> it (good limoncello) is the only way to make a proper lemon drop (and I'm surprised how few bartenders know this.) 2> I actually stumbled across this site last night when trying to figure out how one might make ORANGE-cello - which I can't find anywhere in LA (and not for lack of trying.) - Anthony Citrano
When I was in Austin a couple winters ago, there was a great local distillery making Orange-cello in small batches, and I discovered it a liquor store there near Lake Travis. Anyway, it was great stuff, I miss it, and it makes wonderful "orange-tinis" (for the same reason as the lemon drop rule above.) I'll report back. - Anthony Citrano
You can get orangecello in LA. I'm totally blanking on where we got ours, I want to say BevMo. It's by Caravella. - Anika Malone
I think Luisa makes it (Orangecello) too but I believe theirs has artificial color in it. (Ick.) Another hard thing to find: all-natural apple liqueur (such as Brizard's). You can buy the artifically-colored, artificially-flavored, corn-syrup laden neon-green apple pucker stuff just about anywhere. The real stuff is very very hard to come by. (Likewise, while I'm ranting, for mixers.) Amazing the low-grade faux shit people go for. - Anthony Citrano
I've never heard of the stuff, is it any good? - Pete D via fftogo
I love it (lemon/orange/lime varieties) - I wouldn't drink it straight but it's excellent for cocktails and other recipes. If citrusy and sweet is your thing, you'll find a good *cello cocktail to be win. - Anthony Citrano
Had a Limoncellotini at a wedding on NYE and it knocked my socks off. Aqua di Vit (Limoncello and Grappa) - now that's smooth - and dangerous - Dana D

Death Valley works to preserve night sky | Associated Press
December 30 at 9:24 am - news.yahoo.com - Link
"Acclaimed for its ink black skies, Death Valley, the hottest place in North America, also ranks among the nation's unspoiled stargazing spots. But the vista in recent years has grown blurry..." - Anthony Citrano
I've been blessed to be able to send time at sunrise, sunset, and the black of night at various spots through the valley. Each time a different, soul changing moment in time. Darkness in the desert has a totally different feel than darkness on a mountain top or forest glen. But the same line fits for all .... turn on a light and see for 10 feet, with it off you see eternity. - David HC Soul
Beautiful and true, David. I've never done it in the Valley, but have experienced some amazing, amazing "darkness" (can't really call it that) in places like Big Bend, the Grand Canyon, deep in a German forest, and Acadia National Park (home) in the dead of winter atop a mountain. It touches you, it permeates. There's a palpable one-ness. These city kids have no idea. ;) - Anthony Citrano

Jonathan Elias and Kenny Segal wrote "Separation," the magical 30-second slice of dreamtrak music that scores this recent Audi A4 commercial. I'd love to find more music like this.
